Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
Short version: Sound Tech Insider doesn’t collect, store or sell personal data about you, with one exception you choose yourself: if you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is kept by our newsletter provider. There are no accounts, no comments and no tracking cookies. The rest of this page explains the few things that do happen when you visit, and what you can do about them.
Who is responsible
Sound Tech Insider is run by Daniel Lopes. For anything about privacy on this site, email info@soundtechinsider.com.
What happens when you visit
- Analytics without personal data. We use Umami to count visits and see which pages are read and which links are clicked, including affiliate links. Umami uses no cookies, doesn’t store your IP address and doesn’t build a profile of you. We only see totals, such as visits per page. The data is held in the EU.
- Server logs. Like every web host, our host, Hostinger, automatically records standard technical information when a page loads (IP address, browser, page requested, time) to keep the site running and secure. We don’t use these logs to identify or track anyone.
- If you subscribe to the newsletter. Your email address is stored with Kit, our newsletter provider, to send you The Insider. You confirm your subscription by email first, and every newsletter has an unsubscribe link; once you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you. Kit also records whether newsletters are opened and clicked, so we can see which topics readers find useful. Kit is based in the United States; its privacy policy explains how it protects data, including data from readers in the EU.
- If you write to us by email or with the contact form. The form sends your name, email address and message to our inbox through our host’s mail server; it isn’t stored on the website or passed to any other service. Your message stays in our inbox only as long as needed to reply, and we don’t add you to any list.
That’s all. We don’t sell, share or use personal data for advertising.
Cookies and similar storage
- This site sets no cookies of its own, so there’s no cookie banner.
- Your light or dark mode choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device.
- A few articles embed YouTube videos in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may set cookies once you play one.
Links to other sites
Many pages link to the tools we review, and some of those links are affiliate links (see the disclosure page). Once you follow one, the other site’s own privacy policy and cookies apply.
Your rights
You can ask what, if anything, we hold about you (in practice, an email you sent or your newsletter subscription), and have it deleted. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter yourself at any time with the link in every email. Email info@soundtechinsider.com. You can also contact the data protection authority in the country where you live.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date.
